Artists Proposal for Beyond the Compass, Beyond the Square

Artists Names: Michael Ries & Dana Solano

Description: This is a sketch of our "resonator--it is the sculptural component of our work. To interact with this piece viewers call into a phone number and answer a series of questions. Based on the participants answers, either a harmonious or dissonant chord is created and sounds through the speaker in the resonator. The chord is not only then heard by those around it, but visualized for them by the Chladni plate above the speaker, inside the plexiglas box.
